Sambrook’s are not only London’s Oldest Independent Brewery but we are also the last in a long long line of successive brewers to occupy the famous Ram Brewery site stretching all the way back to 1533 making us the UK’s longest continuously brewing site!
Our Heritage tours start with a tutored tasting of a couple of historic styled ales before moving into the Heritage Centre where various exhibits will be used to describe the complex history of the site and how beer has been brewed here for nearly five centuries.
The tours last approximately sixty minutes and end up with a complimentary pint from the famous Sambrook’s cask ale range.
Standard tours (for a maximum of 15 persons) cost £15 per head or bespoke tours can be arranged by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
Brewer For the Day
Brewer For The Day is a six hour immersive experience where you not only get to learn about the ingredients of beer but you also get to brew with them too! You will get to “mash-in” with malt and hot liquor, “run the Wort”, add the hops and see the boiling process before finally seeing the final product pitched with yeast and left to ferment. Finally, you will get to write up “your” brew in our historic Brewing Book and see your brew take its place as the latest beer to be brewed here at the UK’s Longest Continuously Brewing Site, you indeed will become part of this site’s fabulous brewing history! You will be brewing on our famous nano-brewery which was constructed in 2007 in order to preserve the sites unbroken brewing record.
Our brewing experiences run on Fridays and Saturdays (subject to availability) between 9.30-3.30 for up to two people.
On top of the brewing experience, you will get a mini-keg (5 litre) to take home with you containing a Sambrook’s beer of your choice and a signed certificate to commemorate the day. There is a natural break halfway through the brewing process (during the boil) when you may wish to slip off for lunch in the taproom and, to get you going, we will give you a beer token to use in our pub.
The perfect gift for friends and loved ones or an extra special treat for yourself.
Single places are £100, or double places cost £180.
